The DirecTV junk fax settlement FRAUD
Freaking UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
This is so God damned upsetting. After 3 months of futile efforts to get DirecTV to honor their certificate from the junk fax settlement, I finally ordered the service at their website.
Already I spent Thanksgiving weekend alone, working, had expected to at least be able to take a few hours off to watch a couple movies.
But of course DirecTV had to spoil what little entertainment I had been looking foward to.
According to the Garden City Group, the claims administrator, they forwarded my certificate to DirecTV in October, I had mailed it in about mid September. Their web site promised 3 week turnaround.
So they charged me a $200 deposit, but at least I finally have service. Yesterday some nameless bimbo from DirecTV left a VM for me:
They can stick their free showtime were the sun don’t shine. I’m going to send out a press release and I’ll file a notice of the DirecTV willful refusal to comply with the settlement agreement.
And then I’ll sue not only for the free service I was supposed to get, but for additional damages including mental anguish. I’ve totally had it with being defrauded by just about any American corporation I’m doing business with.
Do I really need this CRAP? I’m so incredibly sick of being lied to and defrauded ...
HTF can I enjoy a movie when I should be filing all these lawsuits and write press releases and there’s no way I can do it all?
I’m so ANGRY I could ... !!!!!

i am having problems with directv with a refund. overpaid my bill for about 9 months so i had a credit for 1032. asked for a refunf 3 months ago and 2 weeks latter thay shut off my service and said i owed the the same amount as my refund. called numerios times to no avail. had my bank on conferance calls with them. no good. my bank sent them proof of payments. there laughing at me. need phone number to directv dispute department because the weirdos ive been talking to at directv customer service said thay never received the faxs from my bank. what a mess. thanx jerryHowever, I'm so DONE with their lies and fraud, I finally SUED them, see http://creditsuit.org/credit.php/blog/C106/
I'm going to update here, at the credit blog, at Fight Back and at CreditCourt to give them the publicity they deserve, as time permits.
It is so unfortunate that NOTHING short of a lawsuit gets their attention. If you'd like to join my suit or provide me with an affidavit regarding your problems to support punitive damages, please e-mail with "DirecTV suit" in the subject so I don't junk it.
But I have an issue with Direct TV and a early termination fee that was charged to me. I had direct tv installed at a house I was leasing. I told the installer in exact terms that I would only want the service for 6 months as that is when my lease would expire and I was moving to a condo where the dish would not be allowed. He says no problem. When I canceled the service I was sent a final bill that contained a prorated early dissconect fee of $85.00. I paid all of my final bill except for the early cancel fee and discussed this with the customer rep who told me i had entered into a verbal agreement to a 1 year contract.. I explained my position on this but they would not listen. Several months later I received calls and letters from a collection agency. I then sent a certafied letter asking for proof of dept. This stopped the calls for about 2 months then I started getting calls from another collection agency demanding the same 85 dollars. I sent them a letter as well and now have a letter from them telling me of my verbal agreement and that it waall on their web site for me to read.
I have the money to pay and i have excellent credit but have a very serious problem with paying money that i think is being scamed out of me.
Any comment would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If I were you, I'd PAY before the account is reported on your credit.
I HATE having to give this advice, but after having at least $10,000 invested in my litigation against DirecTV collector Focus and NO right to get reimbursed for my time, I can only recommend paying bills you do NOT owe as long as they're not on your credit.
See http://creditsuit.org/credit.php/blog/C107/
I'm not sure my discription was accurate though.
It is direct tv that has admitted to me in a letter that I received that I had entered into a verbal 1 year contract with them for a 1 year service and that they do not require a signed contract. They said their terms were mailed to me with my first bill and that it instructed me to call or cancel my service if I didn't agree to there terms.... I don't remember this or definitely didn't read it but question the legality of it. Alas I didn't sign anything but I think you are right I may as well go ahead and pay the extortion!! Thanks
I HAVE proof, after I paid the $250 to protect my flawless credit rating, DirecTV refunded the payment. The trouble is that once a collection hits the credit reports, you probably have to sue the collector to get it deleted and if it was legit (you can't prove that they were wrong), it may just be there for many years to come.
It's simply more economical to pay a few THOUSAND dollars that you do NOT owe than to litigate.
Just make sure that they do NOT report the collection on your credit. You do NOT get a single FICO score point for paying collections.
