Who is Orion Marketing at 800-998-3002?

I just received a hangup call from 800-998-3002 and when I called the number I was told that it was Orion Marketing, telemarketing for mortgage companies.

Is that it?  http://www.orionmkt.com/

Google found only one link for the 800-998-3002:

Google found a mobile home - sweepstakes link

“Manufactured Home, Mobile Home Builder - Mortgage, Loan and Insurance Services”

“The Donnell family of Lawton, Oklahoma formed manufactured home producer, Town & Country Homes in 1955. In 1981, Town & Country merged with Brigadier Homes to become the seventh largest manufactured home producer in the United States. In 1994 Cavalier Homes, Inc. revived the Town & Country brand under the name Cavalier Town & Country. Cavalier Homes, Inc. is a publicly owned company and its stock is traded on the New York Stock exchange under the symbol CAV.”

I just recieved a hang up call from that number on my cell phone but didn't call it back. I googled it and found this. How weird.

Same.
They've called three times in the past three days, and no one ever says anything when I answer.
I googled the number in quotes, and this is what i found.

I have had all of those same things happen to me form this number.

I googled the number and found this site - I'm getting 20+ calls a day from these idiots and when someone is on the other end they're very snotty. If there's a suit, count me in - our cable phone company keeps a log of all incoming and outgoing calls and we can prove over 100 in the last week and a half alone.

Check out this site: http://whocalled.us/lookup/8009983002. Seems a common factor is loans. I began a Bank of America online home equity loan application. I didn't finish it, but the site did warn that even if you don't finish it, a representative may contact you. Despite the fact that when I call back the number the recording says Orion Marketing, I think that's them. They need to do a better job about identifying themselves and stop freaking people out.

These as$holes have been calling me several times a day and 3 times (3 different days) I have called back and told them to take my number off their list. This seemed to prompt even more calls. Today (5/18/07) I called and spoke to "Robert Martinez" who is the supervisor (supposedly) and he said he'd take my number off the list himself. I got a call 1/2 hour after he told me this. If there is legal action being taken, I'd like to know more about it.

I'm getting tons of these calls too, but never answered any. I looked up the website for Orion (OrionMkt.com). As their description for what they do, they say this:

"Our approach is simple, yet effective. We seamlessly integrate with our clients to generate high quality leads, increase customer retention and create a value added customer experience."

All they are doing is finding qualified leads. As soon as you answer the phone, you are a qualified lead. You are telling them that this phone number is good - some one lives there. Now they have a new number to sell. They don't want to talk to you. They just want you to answer the phone!

Add me to the list of people who have received a call from this number. I tried calling back to the 800 number as was sent into the on-hold abyss -- just a few weird clicks. I'm stubborn, so I waited 45 minutes with no response.
I then found this site, went to the website (OrionMkt.com) called their local number and left a message on every extension I could find. In short I said I would press charges if any more calls were received OR if my number was given out by Orion to any other companies.
We'll see if they continue to call. If so, let's get that lawsuit cranked up!

They've just now started to call us. 3 times in the last 3 days. The worst part is they call our cell phones. We've said to take the name off the list but apparently they don't listen. If this doesn't stop, let me know about any action against them because I want a piece of them too.

Just got a call from this company on my cell phone. Second one in as many days. After finding this information, I added them to my cell phone's contact list (phone book) and assigned them a "silent" ringtone. Now they can call all they want, I'll never hear it.

If you are registered on the do not call list- then go to http://www.donotcall.gov & register a complaint for every time they call (even if it's 3 times a day). I did this, and within a week the phone calls stopped. If your not registered, go to the same site- register & after 30 days- you can start filing complaints.

Easy resolve.

Register your number with the national DO NOT CALL LIST

https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

File a complaint on the same site if Orion fails to follow federal regulation.

I called their phone number at 210.694.4114. They will take you off their list if you ask them.

Looks like none of these comments are helpful, just a bunch of sue-happy people bitching about something they can't control. No one owes you any compensation for getting a phone call that you do not want. Yes, it's frustrating but why do you think you are entitled to someone inconveniencing you. America...I love it!

I've been getting hang-up calls from them too, 1-2 a day for the past week. I haven't applied for any loans, but I do have accounts with Bank of America. My number is on the National Do Not Call List.

I got a call from this place as well, and they called my CELL PHONE NUMBER! I am registered with National Do Not Call and they still called me... What should I do?
Posted by JC on 10/22 at 11:53 AM | #
Hey Curtis,
I am NOT a sue-happy person bitching about something beyond my control. I am still getting 20+ calls a day and also in the middle of the night from these morons. I don't have the time for this crap. I'm on the Do Not Call list - they keep calling. I've had calls at 1:00 a.m. from these jackasses.
I shouldn't have to change my number (which, by the way, I HAVE) to stop harrassment from these idiots. I have not applied for any loans, and have no idea where they got my number.
Feeling entitled to not being harrassed by idiots is not an American thing - it's a human thing, and if you don't get it, perhaps you work for one of these companies or else you come from some $hithole country where you expect to be treated like dirt. I don't, so back off.

The guy are calling us constantly and we are putting together a suit now. We have asked them repeatedly to stop and they continue to call.

hey guys, i happen to work for orion and was looking up our site because i actually needed to call in sick and was just getting the number for the front desk when i found this page...to tell you the truth we close at 10pm every nigth so the person who said they got a call from us at 1am is mistaken.

we also work on a ratio system which means 20% of our leads have to be sales, which means we dont call people randomly unless they actually want to buy something from us because it ruins our ratio....simply put its in no ones interest to call you if you dont want to talk to us.
Posted by annonymous on 12/31 at 11:55 AM | #
Hmmmm... if you work there... it might be time to resign... last time I checked, hanging up on someone when they answer the phone is not a good way to make a sale. I wouldn't mind these calls except that I am overseas and they always phone at 3am, hang-up, call again, etc. and don't give me the opportunity to tell them to stop calling.

I just got a call from this number 800-998-3002. The person said that he was with Citi they had just acquired my mortgage and were welcoming me. I asked which mortgage and that through the person at a loss and he said he would have to get his supervisor. The supervisor, named Troy, responded to my question about which mortgage by saying that he would have to look it up by social security number. I responded saying that you are calling me you should know. He then said he would look it up by name and asked for my first name (they already were calling me by my last name). I said you guys are calling me you should know otherwise I consider this a scam. He asked if I had received a welcome letter from Citi. NO He said that when I did I could call the number and they would answer any questions. I am not holding my breath for the letter.
