Lead generation on TV and radio - Guerra Communications

I heard this AWFUL radio commercial for addmorecash.com, it was so bad I had to check it out.  Then I did a google for addmorecash and the only relevant link was for Craig’s blog posting career scam with a tons of interesting info. It’s sad to see how the most desperate people even pay for this crap.

There’s also this moron attorney Robert Cerny, Esq. posting his idiotic comments, in the original topic and the prospect performance scam update

Craig summed it up real well:

“Terry, I never said anything about all “leads services” being sleazy, but I’ll say it now. Leads services are sleazy. It’s a sleazy industry. Network marketing is a sleazy industry. Pyramid schemes are sleazy. You are sleazy.”

The more I learn about lead generation, the more repulsive it gets.  And as of right now, I can’t find a privacy policy at http://addmorecash.com/ - just lots of misrepresentations.  How clever to quote the Office of Advocacy, Small Business Administration. I’m sure a lot of people fall for this crap.

Prospect Performance contact info:

Prospect Performance, LLC
1401 Arville St.
Suite B
Las Vegas, NV 89102
Phone: 1.702-218-6242

But the site also lists an Irving, TX address and Guerra Communications.  I don’t know why the FTC doesn’t shut them down.

Here’s a small sample of the websites they’ve been using:

xcareer.com
xcareers.com
xmoney.com
xmoremoney.com
xincome.com
xmoreincome.com
xwork.com
xmyfuture.com
xyourfuture.com
xmycareer.com
xnewfuture.com
xearnmore.com
xearnings.com
addmorecash.com
increaseyourworth.com
xgain.com
xearningpower.com

Just like the mortgage sites.  Although I don’t think the mortgage sites are advertised on TV or radio, they just spam and junk fax.

Comments:

A big thank you for the hearty souls participating in these comments about the sales lead company, Prospect Performance and Guerra Communications LLC. Our thanks goes out to Craig Cook and Focal Curve ([deleted]) as well as Christine at http://www.Creditfactors.com for providing a forum for people to express concerns about the work-from-home industry. There sure are some scams in the MLM field and that's why we're glad there's finally a consumer advocate like Guerra Communications who forces MLM companies to act legitimately and honestly. Without the threat of Guerra Communications taking away their television-generated leads, some less-than-legitimate companies might not have a reason to treat potential customers fairly and legally under the anonymousness of online marketing. With Guerra Communications there is now recourse for consumers. Guerra Communications does take consumer concerns seriously and read these notes. Where there’s a good idea, our client will act on your suggestions. Forums like Focal Curve and CreditSuit.org offer a way for our client to improve thier business without the expense of focus groups and surveys. Again Craig and Christine, thanks again for the free service. WARNING A brief note to advise those posting on this site...Multi-million dollar companies will spend thousands of dollars on legal representation to defend against slander, libel and tortious business interference. You could be prosecuted and be personally subject to massive legal costs as well as actual and up to treble punitive damages. Just be careful what you say. Opinions are valued...libel and slander may not hide behind the anonymousness of a bulletin board or blog. Please feel free to email me directly should you have questions about this client, their activities, or just wish to share your comments on this industry.

Mr. Pournelle is sure making his rounds. I see it as an encouraging sign when someone has to flaunt credentials and thinly veiled threats of legal action because someone has the audacity to point out the shady side of his industry. That tells me they have a reason to be worried, and rather than making the effort to actually clean up their act (not really possible when your industry is the low-handed sale of desperate people), would rather try weak little intimidation tactics to suppress the free trade of information.

Such tactics are definitely worthy of a multi-million dollar industry. I'm sure Mr. Gotti would agree.

You bet. I was of course aware that this posting would be found by lots of people searching after they were scammed.

Anyone who generates leads for scams like addmorecash.com - I still hear those ads - ought to be charged with criminal fraud. Why aren't the lead generators in jail?

Because the victims are desperate and broke and nobody gives a damn.

These lead generators are SCUM.

Christine, would you be so kind as to edit Frank's comment and remove my private phone number?
Posted by Craig C. on 03/01 at 11:50 PM | #
Craig, no problem - sorry about that.

Am STILL hearing the addmorecash.com commercials. If I had more time I'd contact XM to find out which affilate sells the ads and I'd put them on notice of the illegal advertisements.

I think it would be fairly easy to get stations to drop the commercials - they don't want to be sued and held liable for false advertising.

Frank Pournelle left a threatening message for me:

3/2/05 Frank Pournelle VM

That explains why there are so few posted complaints.

Mr. Pournelle, if you have a problem with anything I publish, you need to first of all explain what you have to do with those scummy ads, what you object to and you need to do it in writing.

My fax # is 571-222-1000

Please also provide me with sworn affidavits from the morons providing the testimonials in the addmorecash.com ads, explaining how they make hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'd also like to see their tax returns.

I believe the addmorecash.com advertisments to be entirely FALSE, if anyone makes that much money with no skills it's by engaging in illegal activities, such as spamming, defrauding people, etc.

If it turns out that I'm wrong and we can all become millionaires by going to that website, I'll gladly provide my testimonial - once I made that kind of money.

Ack!!! I just heard another ad, this one targeting women. What do they do to make $5K/month in their pyjamas? Phone sex?

Just to put my two cents in -
If you can't get information from a MLM company without strings attatched, it isn't worth it. Any MLM company should be straightforward, honest, aboveboard, and be able to provide you with information BEFORE you provide any contact info. They need you more than you need them.

The best MLM's are the ones that talk to you in person. The MLM I engage in is straight up, honest and does not demand info from me unless I am willing to provide it. They provide info to me on my request, and I may leave at any time. Everything is done in person, with real people. The Internet is a tool, not the method of creating the wealth!

It's all about trust - and this group doesn't illict my trust at all.

I would never believe anything at any MLM presentation. As a matter of fact, MLMs in general are nothing but SCAMS - LIES - FRAUD - DECEPTION

Why would you TRUST anyone who makes their money at the expense of others?

If you have a good product, you don’t need to have “parties” to sell your crap. You don’t need to spam. You don’t need to junk fax. And you certainly don’t need a MLM.

I don’t know of a good product available through a MLM.

I see no reason to pay more for a product to make some people rich who add no value and do nothing.

Here's the ad I find so repulsive:

The 3-7-05 recording of the addmorecash.com commercial on XM radio Ch. 165 - Coast to Coast.

"Respond NOW while this is still a FREE service!"

Are they going to CHARGE people for being added to spam lists and having their personal data sold to marketers?

If you have some spare time, I'd like to post a transcript.

The 3/8/05 recording of the homebiz7.com commercial on XM radio Ch. 165 - Coast to Coast.

Apparently you have to <b>PAY SHIPPING for this FREE "work from home training package." Can you say SCAM?

The site goes to a mirror and they want me to download something, I only see half the page. I don't think I'll download anything at that site.

For all of you that don't believe that MLM's can make you a lot of money, don't bother to read this. You obviously don't know the truth. Yes there are some illegit companies out there, however, why would Cingular Wireless, DishNetwork, MCI, XM satellite radio etc parter with a company that is a scam? Many companies are starting to realize the power of MLM just like the ones I just mentioned. If they see the power of MLM why don't you?!
Posted by CStiles on 07/13 at 04:18 PM | #
CStiles, selling crack can make you a lot of money too. You're an idiot.

Christine, what personal experience have you had that has soured you so much on the network marketing industry? I would love to know! gulp

There most definitely have been and still ARE companies out there that engage in questionable front loading practices and still teach bugging the living Hell out of your friends and family. That is a formula for failure if I've ever heard of one and WHY some people still subscribe to it is beyond me.

I have walked away from companies because of shady practices like that. There ARE network marketing companies out there that do NOT front load, that do NOT cost thousands to go into business with, that do NOT ask you to bother people that simply do NOT want what you have to offer. There ARE companies out there that have REALIZED and ADDRESSED all of the negative aspects of network marketing as a whole and have strived to change them.

Once I stopped pestering the butcher, the baker, my Uncle Bob, my aunt Tilly, and my retarded, quadrapalegic, hairlip, transexual brother in Poughkeepsie about "joining my business", and started approaching only those professionals who had the vision to see the dream and already embraced the power of residual income.....did I actually start changing peoples' lives and making money doing what I love.

And please, I would greatly appreciate a professional reply instead of referring to illegal drugs or besmurching the dignity of my mama.

"Christine, what personal experience have you had that has soured you so much on the network marketing industry? I would love to know!"

Buy my book, maybe next year. I might include your posting here.

"... the vision to see the dream and already embraced the power of residual income...."

I just don't have dreams and visions about residual income, I'm too good at math and too damn honest.

I don't embrace money. I'm more into honesty, truthfulness, sharing, caring, giving ...

Our values are simply not compatible.

"And please, I would greatly appreciate a professional reply instead of referring to illegal drugs or besmurching the dignity of my mama."

Why do I owe you ANY reply? I don't recall getting a payment from you. Last time I checked, this was MY site and *I* paid for it. I don't owe you a "professional" reply.

You demand my time without payment -- and that is EXACTLY what I object to.

What ARE you selling if not drugs or porn?

Vitamins and processed "power" foods for idiots!!!!

The MORONS into the MLM crap are just some of the DUMBEST people.

Just because there's a field for the URL doesn't mean that it'll show up. DUH! There are millions of spammers just like Charles. Too funny.

If you're looking for nutritional food, do a google for organic cocao beans, you might even find fair trade products.

Grind the beans in the coffee mill, add to the blender with some organic milk, a banana or two and some crushed ice - that makes a great NUTRITIONAL drink. And even I find time to make it.

You know... If you've wondered whether http://www.icanmakeyoulotsofmoney.com will work for you like it did for me.....

You definitely need to read this.....

Because I used to be one of those paranoid geeks who shut off all invasive avenues to my digital life with firewalls, spamware, adware, mail purges, not to mention the compulsive HackThis checks and dose of daily perusals into the bowels of my system processes. It's a sickness, I know.....

Now, I just use Firefox, the basic triage suite of background-runnning-computer-condom apps, and give a good Charmin wipe of the hard-drive every now and again...

If you're wondering what version of pig-a-latin I am speaking... you are one of the millions of Americans with no idea what awaits you around the next corner in the dark alleys of the city we call the Internet.

All this hoopla...Spam-Scam this, ID-Theft that.... So much Cyber-Crap and not enough plungers. Who's responsible? The Guerra-illas of the world, that's who. And who are they?

You know them, they're the creepy-looking sloths you avoid on the streets, in the convenient store, at the mall, in the halls back in high school... they lounge around all day in their grease-stained lazy-boys and their three-day-old-ripe Star Wars T-shirts and tighty whities blessed by the long-lost Marx Brother, Skid. They flip their newly purchased Ebay plasmas from the Playboy Channel to Pimp My Ride re-runs. Whenever their Ads appear, they get that thunder-a-down-under feeling and rumble into such a raucous laugh that their Simpson-esque lard-belly heaves up and down slapping their well-scratched family jewels so hard that they spew the Dr. Pepper all over the.....

Well you get the picture. At least I hope you do. Because, this is your freak. The guy who greases you up with those suave and provocatively professional 30 second TV lube-jobs. Please, a warm welcome to.... the Master Puppeteer of the Late-Nite Naive, the Exhalted Ruler and Extoller Exraordinaire of several Seven Deadly Sins, and the King of Increasingly-common Identity Indiscretions, the one, the only.... Sameritan Guerracuss.

Yes, I realize this is a bit over the big-top. However, it's a 3-ring circus out there in net-land these days and these side-show freaks will eventually wander into the spotlight and get exposed for the frauds they are. See if their two-bit promoters, like "Pour-nelley" come to save them at the "Last Second" as advertised. My guess is they will scuttle-butt back into the rat-hole never to be heard from again. (that is, until they change the name of their company and get a new URL... it's capitalism at its very finest my dear friends!)

Now, that's the kind of late-nite entertainment I "opt-in" for! Otherwise, take some advice from this Tom-n-Jerry production and Never...EVER.....EVER-NEVER EVEN.... think about entering your Name, Address, Phone #, or God-forbid your SSN or Credit-Card #, or sexual preference, into ANY online form or email-linked page unless you (a) type in the URL yourself!!! and (b) right-click the golden-lock icon on the secure page to verify the site information. If you have no clue as to what I'm talking about, please click on this link http://comeandgetscrewed.com and I'm sure that Guerratesticules will give you a lesson.

PS.... Mr. Cerny, Esq. please use a spell check tab if you don't have your GED yet..... And I WELCOME with a passion all lawsuits for my scandalous diatribe by your deep-pocketed leeches, Reverend Poor Nelly of the Last Second Donation Church.

PPS.... Nice job Christine and Craig!

Nice "scandalous diatribe" -- and good advice.
Posted by Christine on 11/01 at 01:05 AM | #
Christine,
I first want to applaud the fine work you do. Its apparant that the only naysayers you have are the ones with the targets on their foreheads. Keep up the great work! Somebody's got to keep the light shining on these cockroaches or they'll take over the whole damn house. It's a downright-wing dirty job, and somebodys got to do it! (even if ultimately it is a self-serving financial endeavor).

I have three questions for you. Let me clarify first: I have no ties what-so-ever to any of the naysayers on any of your sites. In fact, I'd like to consider myself the average hard-working middle-class Joe, if you will.

Now, firstly you point out:
"If you have a good product, you don’t need to have “parties” to sell your crap. You don’t need to spam. You don’t need to junk fax. And you certainly don’t need a MLM....I don’t know of a good product available through a MLM."
I find those statements painted with way too broad a stroke. What about "Southern Living"? Don't they have nice products at very reasonable prices. Lots of women in my neighborhood buy their stuff and they don't seem oppressed by any of it. What about those vibrator parties the ladies seem to blush about but love to have? Those are two examples of perfectly executed MLMs in my eyes, would you not agree??

Secondly, is there not a place in legitimate business for internet advertising? Of course, I am against the spyware, adware, and excruciatingly annoying pop-ups. But let's face it, Net Business is here to stay and a welcomed convenience for most of us. How are these businesses supposed to advertise? Surely they must be allowed to. Let's take one of the most aggregious: X10.com. Who hasn't been visually violated by them at some point? But, X10.com actually has a lot of great products at great prices. X10 technology is an outstandingly easy way to automate your home. Yet, most are unaware of its laudable convenience. Certainly, their ad campaign is questionable, but where is the line in the sand? How do you propose they reach the masses?

Lastly, your statement: "What ARE you selling if not drugs or porn?"
Not to mock anyone's religious riteousness, but I am constantly insulted by the oppressive right-wing moralistic public outcry going on in this country regarding Sex. Why are Americans so uptight? We'd rather let our kids see someone's head lopped off than some lass stepping out of a bath. We'd rather cartoons with TNT than big-busted bikinis. It's insanity. Perhaps that's why the U.S. has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the world! "Porn" (whatever that means, hell, the country's best judges can't even define it) has been cast to the shadows as immoral. There it festers due to the company it is forced to keep in the dark alleys, hence, the dirty word PORN. Makes you just want to wash your mouth out just saying it.

I ask you, Christine, is there anything inherently wrong with two consenting adults watching two other consenting adults have sex on a screen in your own home? What is unnatural about that, please, educate me.... Why is sex so dirty? Why are we vehemently regulating our families to shame sex into the closet and yet quietly letting visions of viscious violence dance merrily in our "family" rooms?? Give me your wisdom.
Posted by Senile Sensei Sean on 11/01 at 09:49 AM | #
I'm sure you're kidding, but since this is a topic I've thought about a lot, I'm going to pretend you're serious.

I actually have nothing against sex, I just have a problem with the SPAM and the violence and humiliation. Been thinking about taking my old notebooks to Nicaragua and show some teens how to work the net, but I'm having 2nd thoughts now.

Call me old fashioned, but I really don't think anyone needs to see farm girls, rapes, torture, murders and child porn.

A few of the e-mails I just deleted:

"Get your cock into an anal bitch today!"

"Anime Death tentical rape whorehouses!"

"Girls take it in the ass drip out the jizz and drink it!"

I recently read in a discussion on crime in Central America that in Honduras a rapist is not prosecuted if he offers to marry the woman.

Indymedia: 1000s Women Murdered For Snuff Movies

Most porn revolves around violence against women and children and humiliation. I just don't think that's desireable.

The PROFITS go to the producers and marketers, the "stars" are drugged, abused and nobody gives a shit when they die. Another overdose ...

The trafficking of women and children from eastern Europe, Asia and just about any poor country and the audience demand for ever increasingly violent and shocking pics and vids - I can't even understand why that turns guys on.

There's a huge difference between nudity, sex, porn and doing in your bedroom whatever you like with consenting adults and MARKETING porn, humiliation and violence.

"What about "Southern Living"? Don't they have nice products at very reasonable prices. Lots of women in my neighborhood buy their stuff and they don't seem oppressed by any of it. What about those vibrator parties the ladies seem to blush about but love to have? Those are two examples of perfectly executed MLMs in my eyes, would you not agree??"

Very funny. I have no idea what "Southern Living" is and I've been deprived of an invitation to a "vibrator party."

For vibrators, all kinds of toys and great sales people I recommend Good Vibrations in San Francisco. It's been a few years since I've been there, but that place was just fun and NOT sleazy at all - sex how it SHOULD be. http://www.goodvibes.com

Last year I was invited to a "candle party" and I didn't want to be rude and ended up buying some overpriced candles. The most absurd part was the pitch for joining the program and how much money you make.

All in all, I've been fortunate to avoid most of these "parties", but whenever I got suckered into attending (usually due to misrepresentation as a seminar), I realized quickly how people were overcharged and often scammed.

MLM = overpriced crap

My 2001 comments on the X cam

"I was just going to add this link to the new Credit section. So I go to the page to see if the survey is still on, and there is one of the most obnoxious ads on the net.

A few months ago a ton of sites had that pop-up window with the ad for the wireless cam, usually with an almost naked woman. "Put that wireless video camera ANYWHERE!"

Yeah, in the bedroom, guest room, bathroom, shower .... one of the all-time low points of technological "advancement." ..."

That actually goes right with the porn, another email I deleted tonight:

"We tape people fucking who don't know!" -

I would NEVER buy anything at x.com, they've already proven what scum they are.

And I just realized that Drudge replaced his obnoxious pop-ups with more ads on the page. I guess a lot of people share my sentiment and just don't like to frequent sites with obnoxious ads.

Of course we don't have that choice when it comes to SPAM.

There's a good chance that I've NEVER bought anything I saw advertised on the net. It doesn't matter what I'm in the market for, I start with a Google search, maybe check Ebay for prices and try to order from a reputable store.

It's not rocket science, but I realize that obviously a lot of people do buy from advertisers or nobody would advertise anymore.

I have the world's best credit info for sale and I don't advertise it at all except through links from my own sites. For ads to work they have to be deceptive and make outrageous claims and that's just not my thing.

Guerra Communications has recently been using the site "www.replacetheboss.com" I heard an ad on the radio and visited the site, and it is indeed run by them. Keep up the fight to shut these scams down. By the way, I agree that snuff films and all are nothing more than sexploitation, but some porn sites and companies are legitimate companies and some are even run by women and treat their stars very well. Take the enterprise of Danni Ashe, for instance.

I, like other, have been snookered by this website. I sent them $9.95 for an "info package." I'm glad I dug further to find out about their scam before I jumped into the Ponzi scheme myself. Thanks Guerra Communications!!
