California is investigating Health One, Nationwide Benefits and all other discount plans
Got an e-mail today from the California Department of Managed Health Care, Office of Enforcement, requesting the address for Health One and info on any existing Cease & Desist orders.
They plan to issue C & Ds until they get licensed, so the state can impose requirements and they have to operate legally. Apparently there have been a lot of complaints and this about ALL discount health plans.
If you want a refund
You need to go through the BBB where the company is headquartered. That will help with class actions and regulatory enforcement.
To stop the scams
File your complaints with YOUR state’s Department of Insurance and Attorney General.
In California, contact the Department of Managed Health Care.
The health scams are now in the top three search phrases for my sites.
It really sucks that each state has to do their own investigations and enforcement - what a waste of resources. This is another one of those issues the feds should just take care of for all.
